Agreed.
This would really help me be more productive and save so much time trying to find an old chat.

I strongly support the request for a search function across all chats. As a long-time You Pro subscriber who uses you.com for research, ideation, and problem-solving, I can't overstate the importance of this feature. However, this is part of a broader concern about You.com's current trajectory:
- Search Functionality: Essential for serious research (or any system of information), preventing time waste and inconsistencies.
- Falling Behind Competitors: Lacking basic features (chat history downloads) and advanced tools (conversation organizing, voice mode).
- Subpar Mobile Experience: Glitchy performance, delayed feature rollouts, limited functionality compared to web version. I had to wait a month or two to use Cluade Sonnet 3.5 (my favorite model) on the mobile app though it was available on the web interface.
- Changing AI Landscape: Narrowing performance gaps between AI providers erode You.com's multi-model advantage. Now there are even 7B SLMs that out perform foundational LLMs like ChatGPT Turbo 3.5. And the difference b/w foundational LLMs is becoming more about preference than the difference of intelligence b/w AI models.
- Rising Competition: Free top-tier models with third-party tools becoming more appealing than You Pro. I find my self using the free versions of ChatGPT when I know I want to download the conversation and using Cluade when I want to mindmap (via Artifacts).
- Urgent Action Needed: Implement core features, accelerate innovation, improve mobile app, and communicate roadmap clearly.
As a loyal user and YouPro subscriber since You.com's early days, I'm concerned about its future. Without significant improvements and a clear vision, even dedicated subscribers may seek alternatives. Swift action, starting with search functionality, is crucial for retaining users and staying competitive in this rapidly evolving market.

YES! Please add the ability to search through previous chats! It's the main thing keeping me from choosing TeamAI, Perplexity, etc. over You.com

That’s something so useful that anyone implemented yet
