Exporting chat transcripts can:
- improve customer service by allowing customers to access the details or instructions provided by the chat at any time, which can reduce repeated requests and increase customer satisfaction. I, for one, like to download specific transcripts to PDF and add them to my Kindle or download them to .md so I can play with them in my note app
- enhance transparency and accountability, leading to more trust in You.com services
- create email marketing opportunities for you.com by requesting email addresses from non-subscribers to get a transcript
This feature makes business sense for you.com and will improve my experience, so let's get it done already --sheesh.

Printable chat log or ability to export
ML
Hello! Currently if you try to print a chat via the browser, it only shows the content above the fold. The scroll bar is visible in the print preview.
Not sure if that would constitute a bug. I'd say it's fine that it does not work as one might expect via printing from the browser if the functionality exists otherwise.
I'm thinking a print button or menu that sends just the current but full chat log to the browser print prompt would be ideal. Another potential approach would be the ability to export as PDF or similar.
I'm currently copying the text to elsewhere which is not ideal since the formatting is lost. I frequently am in need of using information in an air gapped environment where I do not have access to the internet, so for my own use case this functionality would be huge!

You.com is doing an amazing job explaining things in a structured way.
For that reason I like do save some of the conversations as a Word or a PDF file that also can be shared.
For now (June 2024) exporting the conversation is poorly implemented.

Today language models are becoming much more than entertainment and people start widely using it in educational process. In my opinion it is important to be able to return back to past dialogs even when there are no access to the internet. Therefore, please, add feature of downloading dialogs in pdf or other format.

The inability to export the contents of a discussion is extremely limiting for the potential of your app. It’s a mistake to treat a chat with an AI bot as if an SMS conversation thread between people where people seldom return to past messages or use past messages as reference material for some other work.

I would very much like this option to also support markdown. Copy-paste like the current option would already be neat. But the current option only works for a single answer. I would like to be able to export the complete chat, preferably with the mentioned or used weblinks to create the answers.
Also, there are some similar feature requests, that I think should be merged to get an accurate sense of the amount of users that are interested in this feature. I found these, but possibly there are even more:

I have the same problem. Is there now a way to save the chats individually?
