Why is there No Direct Toggle to disable Follow-Up Questions on You.com? I checked various sources and none of them explicitly mention a way to disable follow-up questions on You.com. it's frustrating that such a feature is not user-configurable.
While You.com doesn’t offer a solution, other platforms like Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo have some methods to reduce AI intrusiveness:
GOOGLE
: You can disable AI features in "Labs" or use search modifiers like
-AI
to avoid AI-generated results.
DUCKDUCKGO and BRAVE
: These search engines make AI features opt-in, meaning they’re disabled by default.
Many users across platforms (e.g., Reddit, forums) share my frustration about intrusive AI features and the lack of customization options. Competitors like Perplexity and DuckDuckGo offer simpler, user-focused experiences.
If you.com wants to offer complicated features then at least allow users to disable features like excessive follow up questions that mostly waste our time and truly are not needed. Unfortunately, You.com does not currently offer a way to disable follow-up questions, and no specific instructions exist to simplify this feature. Time to change that.
